This is a manufacturer refurbished Optoma TH1020 Full HD 1080p DLP Projector. The TH1020 is very similar to the very popular HD20 but has a considerably higher brightness rating at 3000 lumes vs only 1700 lumens on the HD20. Therefore this projector would be a much better then the HD20 if you are planning to put the projector in a room that is not light controlled, such as a living room, or any room with windows or lots of lights that you want to have on. Brighter projectors tend to be more desirable also if you want to play a lot of video games or watch sports because you often don't want to have all the lights off but still want a great picture. This is where this model will excel as compared to lower lumen models. Due to the fact this model is so bright it is also very well suited for business use for presentations, or for use in church's or conference rooms where you still want decent brightness but also desire true 1080p resolution and 16:9 widescreen format. Another advantage of this model over the HD20 that some users may find a plus is the built in speaker and included carrying case!
